Yadav v/s Yadav: UP CM sacks Shivpal Yadav from his Cabinet, Mulayam retaliates

Lucknow: In the latest turmoil to the ongoing dispute in the Samajwadi Party, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has sacked his uncle Shivpal and four other ministers from the state cabinet, raising speculations about the conflicts in the party.

The swift move came after the meeting between Akhilesh Yadav and his ministers on early Sunday morning. Reports state that Shivpal Yadav and his group had not been called to attend the meeting.

Meanwhile, In tit-for-tat action, SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav has expelled Ramgopal Yadav from the party for 6 years

“Anyone loyal to Amar Singh will not remain in my government and if anyone tries to break my house, I know how to deal with such people,” legislators loyal to the Chief Minister quoted him as saying.

However, they also said that Akhilesh Yadav is not in a plan to launch his own party.

Earlier on Saturday, party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav had met his top leaders, including son Akhilesh and brother Shivpal in an effort to solve the ongoing conflicts in the party.

Tensions between the Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle had intensified after Akhilesh Yadav met the district heads of the party, who had been invited by Shivpal Yadav on Saturday. However, CM skipped the meeting.

Despite Shivpal Yadav had declared that Akhilesh Yadav will be the chief ministerial face if the party returns to power, Akhilesh had indicated that he is not willing to acquire the terms being set by Shivpal Yadav.

Meanwhile, sacked SP leader, Shivpal Yadav had said that his removal from the Akhilesh ministry was an attempt by some people to weaken the Samajwadi Party and that he was not worried about being dropped, asserting that the upcoming Assembly polls would be fought under the leadership of Mulayam Singh Yadav.
