\ Rural Development Minister Neelkanth Singh Munda said\that the stateÂ’s desire was to develop villages and provide\facilities to the people.\ Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma said that the state\government has sent a proposal of Rs 12,000 crore for\construction of highways to the Centre, adding approval of\some had been received.\ An amount of Rs 4000 crore would be spent to construct\state roads, Verma said.\ To speed up rural road, the state government has set a\target of laying 3,500 km road, of which work of 1500 km road\has been completed, she said.\ Roads were necessary to strengthen the stateÂ’s economy\and there was no dearth of funds and schemes, Verma said.
