Lucknow: In what could be a surprising incident, Mani Ram, a rickshaw puller who served Paytm’s CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma make it to Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav‘s residence despite a heavy traffic jam has been rewarded with Rs. 6,000, a new cycle rickshaw and the promise of a new home.
Mani Ram appeared nearby to the Chief Minister’s 5 Kalidas Marg residence where he was held by a man wearing ‘Kurta Pyjama‘, he didn’t recognize the man was the CEO of Paytm.

“I took him to there….at the gate he had a word with the security guards and they let us right through,” Mani Ram quoted in a report.
After leaving Mr. Sharma at the doorstep of Akhilesh Yadav’s residence, Mani Ram was about to turn back when he heard a voice calling his name. As he turned back, he saw CM Akhilesh himself was calling him.
“He asked me how long I have been working here, how long I have been driving a rickshaw…where I am from…” said Mani Ram, who is basically from Rae Bareli, around 100 km from the capital Lucknow. He informed the Chief Minister that what he needed an auto-rickshaw and his own house.
The Chief Minister asked his aides and gave him Rs. 6,000 on the spot, as a Diwali gift. “Take a new cycle-rickshaw for now. My people will get in touch with you for the rest,” Akhilesh told Mani Ram.’

The meeting with the rickshaw puller granted the Chief Minister a break from a bitter Samajwadi rama that has hold him against his father and SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and uncle Shivpal Yadav ahead of the crucial UP Polls.
