The tussle for getting cash from the bank is not getting eased out even after a week after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced demonetisation of currency.
Long queues have been witnessed at various bank branches and ATMs. In a bid to get things eased out government on Tuesday announced some of the directions to the banks to make things easy for the common public.

At a press briefing Economic Affairs Secretary, Shaktikant Das, said:
Same people coming repeatedly responsible for long queues; banks to put Indelible Ink on people withdrawing money or exchange old notes for new ones, Shaktikant Das said.
- Cash availability with branch post offices and district cooperative banks has also been enhanced.
No reason to panic. Enough supply of cash in the banks, says DEA Secretary Shaktikanta Das
- Economic Affairs Secretary appealed urged religious places receiving donations in smaller denominations to immediately deposit the same in banks to increase currency.
We are encouraging places of worship to deposit notes of smaller value so they can be dispensed to people.

- Special Task Force set up to monitor infusion of fake currency especially in the vulnerable areas.
- Old currency of higher denomination will be accepted till November 24th at essential places like Government Hospitals, Government Medical stores, Petrol Pumps, Government billing centers.
