Believe it or not! It snowed in Sahara desert

The Algerian town of Ain Sefra situated in Sahara witnessed snowfall
on Monday. According to the reports, the last snowfall was in February 1979
that lasted for about thirty minutes and stopped traffic. There have
also been sightings of dusting snow in 2005 and 2012.

not the first place that someone would think of when it comes to snow.

of the desert sand covered in snow.

The people were stunned when they saw the snow. According to some
reports, the snow lasted for a day and then melted.

Sahara, the largest desert in the world spans an area of 92 lakh
square kilometres. It is one of the hottest regions of the world, with
temperatures that can rise up to 47 degrees Celsius.

Although the temperature in winter can dip below the freezing point,
snow is rare because the area is one of the driest on earth.
