America’s first lady sues this publication for calling her an ‘Escort’

Date:

America’s first lady Melania Trump launched an official statement against Daily Mail Online when they termed her as an ‘escort.’

In court documents filed Monday, the first lady said that she and her brand had missed out on “multiple millions of dollars” in licensing, marketing and endorsement opportunities that would otherwise have been available to someone spending time as “one of the most photographed women in the world.”

The first lady who owns her brand named ‘Melania’ is unable to sell any clothes, shoes, makeup, jewelry and other items. She filed the complaint but it was rejected on the grounds that the court lacked geographical jurisdiction over the matter, which would need to be heard in New York.

The Daily Mail Online issued a retraction of its August 20 article and stated that it “did not intend to state or suggest that these allegations are true, nor did it intend to state or suggest that Mrs. Trump ever worked as an ‘escort’ or in the ‘sex business.'”

Tarpley, the blogger, acknowledged his wrongdoing in a statement sent by Trump’s lawyers. “I posted an article on August 2, 2016 about Melania Trump that was replete with false and defamatory statements about her,” Tarpley said.

“I acknowledge that these false statements were very harmful and hurtful to Mrs. Trump and her family, and therefore I sincerely apologize to Mrs. Trump, her son, her husband and her parents for making these false statements.”
