Craig Dawson scored two goals from headers as West Bromwich Albion stunned Arsenal with a 3-1 home win. Alexis Sanchez equalised three minutes later but Arsenal saw their goalkeeper Petr Cech go off injured.

Albion restored their lead on 55 minutes when Hal Robson-Kanu scored within a minute after coming on and, after Danny Welbeck had struck the bar for Arsenal, Dawson scored again with a header, on 75 minutes, from James McClean’s corner.

West Brom stay eighth, on 43 points, while Arsenal are five points off fourth-placed Liverpool after four defeats in five league matches.

Chelsea extended their lead in the Premier League to 13 points as Gary Cahill’s late goal helped them to a 2-1 victory at Stoke City.

Willian’s free-kick on 13 minutes fooled Lee Grant at the near post to give Chelsea the lead.

Stoke equalised through Jonathan Walters’ penalty after the Irishman was fouled by Cahill in the penalty area.

Marcos Alonso’s free-kick hit the bar and Grant denied Pedro as Chelsea looked to restore their lead.

Their efforts were finally rewarded when Cahill reacted quickest to a loose ball in the area after a corner 12 minutes before the end.

Middlesbrough 1- 3 Manchester United

Manchester United became the first side to claim 600 victories in the Premier League all thanks to a hard-fought 3-1 win over Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.

Marouane Fellaini put United ahead with a close-range header at the back post on the half-hour mark. Jesse Lingard then doubled United’s lead on 62 minutes with a superb shot into the top corner from outside the penalty area.

The home side pulled a goal back through substitute Rudy Gestede with 13 minutes left but despite mounting the pressure, United sealed the three points when Antonio Valencia took advantage of a Victor Valdes slip.

United move above Arsenal into fifth place while Middlesbrough remain in the bottom three, five points from safety.

Tottenham Hotspur maintained their unbeaten home record in the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over Southampton that closed the gap on leaders Chelsea back to 10 points. The home side took the lead on 14 minutes through Christian Eriksen’s good looking left-footed finish into the bottom corner.

Dele Alli then doubled Spurs’ lead from the penalty spot on 33 minutes after he was fouled by Steven Davis in the penalty area.

Saints found a way back into the contest when James Ward-Prowse scored seven minutes into the second period but despite putting on the pressure on their opponents, they could not claim an equaliser.

Second-placed Spurs are 10 points behind Chelsea, while Southampton remain 10th.

Man City 1-1 Liverpool

Sergio Aguero’s goal kept Manchester City above Liverpool in the Premier League as they fought back to earn a nerve breaking 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium.

After a goalless first-half finished with a stream of chances, Liverpool went ahead when James Milner calmly scored a penalty following Gael Clichy’s foul on Roberto Firmino.

But Aguero converted Kevin De Bruyne’s brilliant cross on 68 minutes.

Then De Bruyne rattled the post and Aguero blasted over for City late on, while Liverpool’s Adam Lallana missed a fantastic opportunity when he was unmarked six yards out late on.

The draw leaves Man City third, one point and a place above Liverpool having played one match more.
