Reliance Jio Prime Plan Extended upto April 15

Date:

Reliance Jio has extended the last date for Jio Prime plan to April 15 against the original deadline of March 31, giving users 15 more days to sign up for the subscription plan. In a letter addressed to Reliance Jio customers, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani thanked the users, and added that Jio Prime last date was being extended from March 31 to April 15.

The telecom upstart has also announced something it is calling Jio Summer Surprise, under which it is providing three months of free services to customers who sign up for the Rs. 99 Jio Prime plan before April 15 and buys a recharge of Rs. 303 (or higher value).

With this move, users will be able to buy the Jio Prime membership at the introductory price of Rs. 99 for 15 more days. Earlier today, some users said they were unable to subscribe to the Jio Prime plan via the Jio.com website and MyJio app due to system errors, likely caused by server overloads due to unusually high traffic.

The Rs. 99 Jio Prime plan provides customers more than 10 times the 4G data on recharge values or Rs. 303 and higher. For example, Jio Prime users get 28GB of data for 28 days (with daily cap of 1GB), while non-Jio Prime customers get only 2.5GB. Similarly, those buying the Rs. 499 Jio recharge pack get 56GB of 4G data (FUP of 2GB per day), instead of 5GB.

Therefore, those who have not subscribed to Jio Prime so far will have to start paying for data, SMSs and other services, but have another 15 days to become members of the subscription service.
