KXIP defeated Gujarat Lions by 26 runs with help of economical bowling and anchoring knock from Hashim Amla who scored 65 runs in 4 balls with a healthy strike rate of 150. Captain of Kings XI Punjab Glenn Maxwell and emerging all-rounder Axar Patel showed aggressive batting skills by scoring 31 and 34 in just 17 18 and 17 balls accompanied by flat sixes.
