Date:

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], May 8: Following the brutal gangrape of a disabled girl in Malda, West Bengal, Women’s activist Brinda Adige stressed on the need to have the case fast tracked by the judiciary, so that the victim gets justice in the swiftest manner possible.

“The tragedy is that this differently abled girl will not be able to explain what she went through. This means a big job for the judiciary. They cannot take next five years like in Nirbhaya case. They have to fast track the case and give justice as soon as possible to teach a lesson to all perpetrators who think they can walk free even after committing such crimes because the system is not fast enough,” Adige told the media.

She asserted that violence against women has been on rise, however, thankfully because of media a lot of them are now reported but still the system has not strengthened or improved.
