Meanwhile, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) is hearing the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav in The Hague, Netherlands.

In India’s corner at the Hague were Joint Secretary (Pakistan-Afghanistan-Iran) Deepak Mittal (principal agent), Joint Secretary VD Sharma (co-agent), Harish Salve (counsel), Kajal Bhat, first secretary, Embassy of India in the Netherlands (advisor) and Chetna N Rai (junior counsel).

In the hearing, India put forwards its demands and told ICJ:

“Pak repeatedly denied consular access to India and no document of Kulbhushan Jadhav’s trial process was given by Islamabad.”

“India denied consular access since March 2016, Pakistan failed to comply with norms,” VD Sharma from India said.

Harish Salve said:

“Pakistan refused to communicate to consular services; violated rights all along.”
