Austrian watch company LAKS launched wristwatch that could be used to make payments at the gates of Delhi Metro. DMRC has approved the mode of payment by LAKS watches.

The mode of payment called pay2watch can be purchased through e-commerce sites. DMRC official said “The new facility is expected to provide the commuters with a more convenient and fast access to the Delhi Metro network. The commuter will simply have to touch the wristwatch to the screens of the AFC (Automatic Fare Collection) gates at the metro stations to get access,” said a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) statement”.
The watch will make payments using a sim card that can be recharged like usual metro cards. The watchmaker earlier joined hands with Hyderabad Metro in 2015
