India beat arch-rival Pakistan in Blind Cricket World Cup

Cricket is like a religion in India so any win is celebrated like anything. A defeat is even mourned. But ultimately it is the game that keeps the fans glued. And when the match is against arch rivals Pakistan the thrill and anticipation reaches the ultimate level. A win is celebrated like anything.

India beat host Pakistan by seven wickets in their third match of the Blind Cricket World Cup on Friday at the Ajman Oval in UAE.

For the second time in a row, India won the toss and they elected to field. Put into bat, Pakistan scored 282 for the loss of 8 wickets in 40 overs. Md Jamil top scored for Pakistan with 90 runs from 91 balls before he was retired hurt.

In reply, India scored their runs very quickly and reached the target with five overs to spare. For India, Deepak Malik again top scored with 79 runs from 71 balls and Venkateshwara Rao scored 55-ball 64.

With this win, India topped their group, followed by Pakistan.

Pakistan came into the match following back to back victories against Bangladesh and Nepal.

Meanwhile, India defeated Sri Lanka by six wickets in their second match courtesy Deepak Malik’s unbeaten 179 off 103 balls. The team’s opening game against Australia was called off due to heavy rain.

India’s refusal to travel to Pakistan for the World Cup forced the organisers to shift all their matches to UAE. Pakistan went into the match without five of their players not available for selection as they could not get their visas in time to travel to UAE for the match.
