Ranveer Singh gets his first award for Padmaavat – a letter from Amitabh Bachchan

Date:

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, who is being widely praised for his portrayal of invader Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, is elated to have received a letter of appreciation from superstar Amitabh Bachchan.

Ranveer posted a picture of the flowers and letter sent by Amitabh and wrote, “Mujhe mera award mil gaya @SrBachchan.” The actor has been applauded by critics and fans alike for his portrayal of the Delhi sultan.

Ranveer Singh is a huge fan of the superstar and has often confessed his love and respect for Amitabh Bachchan. Amitabh, on the other hand, sends across personal notes of appreciation to actors when he is impressed with their work.

Talking about his role of Khilji, Ranveer had earlier told that, “I will be honest — when I was offered Padmaavat, most people were of the opinion that a hero should not play the anti-hero.But I believed otherwise. I saw Khilji as a challenge for me, as an actor. And I wanted to take the challenge up. I went with the vision of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and my instinct of what I could achieve with Khilji.”
