Kamal Haasan hints at a political merger with Rajinikanth

Date:

Days ahead of launching a political party, actor turned politician Kamal Haasan hinted at a political merger with Rajinikanth.

In an interview with Vikatan magazine, the actor did not step back from mentioning that he was willing to join hands with Rajinikanth and further highlighted that only time will tell what is in store for the two Tamil superstars. In his weekly column, Kamal said that both actors should first launch their party and then a decision will be taken if their ideologies are a match.

“We should first see if our ideologies match,” Kamal reiterated.

The actor is currently in the US for the post-production of Vishwaroopam 2, will be returning to Tamil Nadu on February 16, reports suggest.

During the course of the interview, he further added that he is in touch with leaders of an array of parties, one of whom is Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan. The award-winning actor, who first took on the ruling AIADMK over its alleged corruption, has been critical of the government on various issues, including the latest revision in bus fares.

Earlier on January 21, actor Kamal Haasan has named his state-wide political tour starting February 21 as ‘Naalai Namathey,’ borrowing the legacy of yesteryear superstar and late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MG Ramachandra. On borrowing the legacy of MGR to name his tour, Haasan acknowledged it would remind of the yesteryear veteran.
