TTV Dhinakaran, Tamil Nadu MLA and rebel AIADMK leader launched his own political outfit, the Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazagam or AMMK on Tuesday.
Dhinakaran also unveiled the party flag, which bore the image of former chief minister Jayalalithaa . He said, “We will win all upcoming elections from now by using latest name and party flag, we will also try to retrieve the two leaves symbol, till then will use cooker symbol.”
The launched witnessed a massive crowd and all the roads leading to Melur, the venue for the announcement, were chock-a-block.
Dhinakaran floated his party in the same city where actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan launched his ‘Makkal Neethi Maiam’ just weeks ago.
Dhinakaran, nephew of Jayalalithaa’s incarcerated former-aide Sasikala, had asked the public in Madurai to participate in large numbers. He had earlier vowed to bring down the EPS-OPS-led Tamil Nadu government within a time frame that is now on the verge of ending.
