Sikh and JK separatist groups plan anti-India protests at CHOGM

Different groups of Sikh and J &K separatists are planning to stage protests against India during the Commonwealth Head of Government Meeting (CHOGM) scheduled to be held in Britain from 16 to 20 April. Prime Minsister Narendra Modi will participiate in the meeting  along with other world leaders from the commonwealth countries.

The controversial Pakistani origin MP of House of Lords, Lord Nazir Ahmed, will fund the protests.Lord Nazir Ahmed, the president of the all-Party Parliamentary group on Kashmir, is a well-known Anti-India campaigner in British parliament.
The Sikh groups will demonstrate outside one of the venues (London or Windsor) where the heads of states of the 53 Commonwealth countries will meet in this month.

Various Sikh groups have been opposing the arrest of British national Jagtar Singh Johal who was arrested by the NIA for funding the Khalistan Liberation Force. Johal was allegedly involved in the targeted killings of RSS workers in Punjab.
According to ANI report, “Kashmiri separatists have hired several open roof tourist buses with signage of “Free Kashmir” and “Modi not welcome.”
These buses carrying women and children will pass through all the major places like Parliament, White hall, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly and Buckingham palace.
A London-based Pakistani, Javid Iqbal, wrote on Facebook, “The 3 day’s ride of buses are completely free of charge and paid by his honourable lord Nazir Ahmed. The skies above London will be filled with flying balloons for Kashmir to be seen from across London and streets by convoy of the buses and vans. Good opportunity to get children involvement in a friendly protest manner to high light Kashmir issue to international community by releasing balloons from buses tops in London city,” reports ANI.
