Breaking: South and North Korea to end their 68 years war

Date:

A 68 year long military conflict between North and South Korean may come to an end very soon, reports Munwha Ilbo a South Korean newspaper.

According to the reports an unnamed South Korean official told a local newspaper about the ongoing discussion between top officials of both the nation to end the military conflict.

The source also added that a direct line between South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un could be established by the end of the week and that the two leaders may release a joint statement officially ending the conflict at a summit next week.

Munwha Ilbo says statement may come at Moon-Kim summit. Both the nation have technically been at war since June 1950. North Korean troops invaded South Korea following a series of border clashes and three years later an armistice was signed.
