Reaction to Modi’s Bharat Ki Baat varies – inspired, proud, skeptical and disbelieving

Date:

Prime Minister’s ‘ghar ki baat’ in London has elicited accolades, praise, doubt, cynicism and disbelief from a wide cross section of people in the country including actors, activists, politicians and the common man. In Westminister Hall, Modi fielded questions  ranging from sanitation, Ayushman Bharat to Pakistan addressing the 1.25 crore strong electorate as a precursor to the Karnataka elections and the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. He also made a number of references to the Mahatma Gandhi and his teachings, who had also spoken decades ago at the same venue.

Actor Anupam Kher tweeted that the talk was inspirational.

While Congress leader Ashok Ghelot, who reacted to a number of comments made by the PM, said it is easy to issue statements in a foreign country without practicing those at home.
