Vishal Sikka, who left Infosys about ten months back in a public spat with the founders, said that he is now working on an artificial intelligence (AI) venture, according to a leading financial daily. The former CEO of Infosys talked about the AI opportunity and how it is being drowned out by the noise around the potential destruction of the workforce, at a public event in the Silicon Valley. The AI venture is in its early stages, the report said.

Sikka stressed on the need for more education on artificial intelligence as the number of people who can use machine learning tools is less than 250,000. The current wave of AI would produce a large number of applications as researchers developed a number of applications broader more thoughtful approach, he said. In the past Sikka has served as chief technology officer at German software giant SAP, where he worked on AI.
“As I look at the future, I am personally extremely excited about doing something in that area (AI), something that fundamentally improves the world,” Sikka had told Knowledge@ Wharton in February.
At Infosys, Sikka focussed on artificial intelligence and the Indian company has retained the artificial intelligence platform Nia that was created under his watch.
