Congress submits evidence of ’60 lakh fake voters’ to EC from MP

Date:

The Congress Party in Madhya Pradesh (MP) today submitted evidence to the Election Commission of India (ECI) of large scale ‘fake voters’ registration and other irregularities in the voter rolls in the poll-bound state.

The party leader for MP, Kamal Nath said that they have provided evidence of  approximately 60 lakh fake voters registered in the MP voting list.

“We have provided evidence to the Election Commission (EC) that there are approximately 60 Lakh fake voters registered in the state’s voting list. These names have been deliberately registered. This is not administrative negligence, but, administrative misuse,” he informed reporters.

Meanwhile, the Congress leader from MP, Jyotiraditya Scindia accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said, “this is the BJP’s doing. How is it possible that whereas the state population has only increased by 24% in 10 years but, the number of voters have increased by 40%? We scrutinized the lists from all the constituencies, one voter has been registered in 26 lists, there are similar cases from other places too.”

Earlier in February, the Congress Party had complained to the EC about discrepancies in the MP voter’s list and asked it to take steps to ensure free and fair elections.
