The Prime Minister has answered the fitness challenge thrown at him by Virat Kohli, the captain of the Indian cricket team, on May 23. Modi posted a video, early Wednesday morning, which showcased his exercise regimen.

He then nominated Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy for the #HumFitTohIndiaFit challenge and the international table tennis player Manika Batra among others.

The challenge was initiated by the Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, on May 22 and subsequently accepted by Hrithik Roshan, Virat Kohli, Harsh Vardhan, minister of science and technology and Jayant Sinha, minister of state for civil aviation.
Modi is known to be particular about his fitness regime and he encourages others also to have one too, especially in the form of yoga and walking. In a recent interaction with the beneficiaries of the Ayushman Bharat, Modi said that the government can provide low cost medicines and treatments but everyone must take care of their health by exercising.
Last year on International Yoga Day Modi had performed yoga along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and 51,000 participants at Ramabhai Ambedkar Sabha Sthal, Lucknow.
