In a shocking incident Kolkata woman dies twice on the same day

Kolkata: In a tragedy, a Kolkata woman died twice, in the same day, first in the death certificate and then when she was taken to her home or cremating her. Sibani Biswas, 55, suffering from Sepsis was declared dead by the Govt. hospital, R G Kar Hospital at around 7.15 am on Friday.

The hospital issued a death certificate in her name and handed her body to the family for the last rites. Sibani got admitted to the hospital on June 11. She was admitted with high pressure, diabetes and blood infection in Barasat hospital. From there, last Sunday she was referred to R G Kar Hospital. Her family members shifted her to R G Kar on Monday as her condition deteriorated.

In the hospital, she was kept in ICU as she was critical. On Saturday, she was declared dead and was taken to the cremation ground, all the last rites were performed when the family suddenly noticed her breathing.

After the massive medical negligent, the victim’s family refused to take her back to the same hospital and decided to go to a Madhyamgram. “The hospital had given the death certificate to us in the morning. So I refused to go there and we took her in an ambulance to Madhyamgram,” Sukamal Biswas, Sibani’s son told Mumbai Mirror.

“My mother’s body was kept unattended for several hours since 7.15 am in the morning. Her condition was critical. We reached the hospital in Madhyamgram so late that we could not be saved. She died in front of the hospital,” Sukamal said.
