Compelled to jump from the second floor, woman dies during mock drill

A 19-year-old student died during a mock drill was conducted by the National Disaster Management Authority, Coimbatore college on Thursday. The eyewitnesses say that the girl was not ready to jump but the trainer pushed her because of which she fell and hit her head on the edge of the floor below.

A video of the same incident was also shot in which the girl, N Logeswari, is standing on the ledge on the second floor of the college building and is being assisted by the trainer, TR Arumugham.

“National Disaster Management Agency had conducted the mock drill in Logeswari’s college. As part of the drill, the NDMA personnel had asked the boys and girls to jump from the second floor,” police said. A case has been registered against the trainer.
