GST Council meet
GST Council is likely to meet on July 21 to discuss the inclusion of jet fuel (ATF) and natural gas under GST . While considerations of revenue loss to both Centre and states are holding back bringing oil and petroleum products under GST immediately, natural gas and ATF may be the first ones to be included.
Key domestic events
- The government to announce wholesale price inflation (WPI) for June 2018 Monday. WPI rose by 4.43% YoY in May 2018, compared with 3.18% in April and 2.26% a year earlier.
- Company results expected : Hindustan Unilever, Jay Bharat Maruti, Sintex Plastics Technology
- Rupee ended at 68.53 against the dollar on Friday versus 68.57 on Thursday.
International Events
- Oil prices to be watched as concerns about supply disruptions from Libyan and strike action in Norway and Iraq pushed oil prices higher late last week .
- US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are scheduled to meet in Helsinki on Monday. They are expected to discuss a plethora of subjects including Putin urging Trump to soften sanctions imposed over Ukraine and Trump pressing Putin on allegations of meddling in the 2016 US election and the war in Syria.
