By Jove!
The red planet Mars continues to shine has humanity’s next destination. Scientists have recently discovered evidence of liquid water underneath the south pole of Mars Express Orbiter. The probe detected a wide water body, around 1.5 km below the surface. This is the first stable liquid water body found on the planet. Scientists said they tried to exhaust ‘every possible alternative’ to arrive at the conclusion. They used research from our planet and correlated the data given by the probe
This is just one more discovery , in a long line of discoveries that should make you follow Elon Musk’s dream for populating Mars. Nasa’s curiosity rover, which has been on Mars since 2012 discovered Hydrogen, carbon and oxygen molecules thereby confirming that Mars is habitable , however the lack of liquid water was a big concern. This new finding brings, if you’ll pardon the expression, a spring of new hope into further discoveries. The Italian Space Agency released the news and the device used to record it is the Mars Advanced Radar for Subsurface and Ionosphere Sounding instrument—Marsis for short. Robero Orosei , a radioastronomer at the National Institute for Astrophysics, who led the investigation quoted
“Marsis was born to make this kind of discovery, and now it has,.
