PM Modi’s Mann Ki Baat: Things you need to know

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the people in India and abroad in the 46th edition of Mann Ki Baat programme on All India Radio on Sunday.

In this episode of Mann ki Baat, PM Modi lauded the young athletes Hima Das and Ekta Bhyan. He also remembered freedom fighters Lokmanya Tilak and Chandra Shekhar Azad, whose birth anniversary was observed last week, on July 23.

Here are the big takeaways from PM Modi’s Mann ki Baat.

  • He started his speech by talking about the recent weather and how many parts of the country are battered by heavy rains. He said that humans have chosen this way of locking horns with nature for development leading to disastrous consequences. He urged the nation to become nature’s caretakers then only nature will maintain its balance.

  • PM Modi emphasised the need to care for the environment. ‘It should be our duty to care for the nature, protect our environment, and maintain balance of our natural resources,’ said Modi.

  • Taking about the Thailand cave rescue, PM Modi said that the patience, determination and courage shown by the rescuers and the young football team when they were stuck in the treacherously flooded cave was exemplary.

  • The month of July often heralds new beginnings for our youth. A huge population of our youth leave their homes and begin a new journey, PM said.

  • PM minister also paid his tributes to Lokmanya Tilak on his birthday that was on July 23 and urged people to remember and pay our homage to him (Lokmanya Tilak) on his Death anniversary on August 1st.

  • Prime Minister cited various examples of students who embraced success despite the unfavorable financial situation.
