It’s an English Wrap: India dismissed for 274, Kohli slams 149

Date:

They say the captain must lead from the front , however that does not mean no one else will do anything. Once again Virat Kohli was left alone and frustrated at the batting end , as he watched his teammates get out one by one  in this interesting India tour of England.

Earlier  from a comfortable 111 for two, England ended the day at 287 all out  with Mohammad Shami  and Ravichandran Ashwin doing the bulk of the damage.

The test series is already full of ‘spice’ as Joe Root, the English skipper said when Kohli’s animated celebration of Root’s run out was a response to Root’s bat drop when he had scored a century in the ODI series.

However India failed to perform as they were reduced to 160 for 6 due to Brilliant bowling on part of Sam Curran  who took 4 wickets and Ben Stokes .

The Indian Top order failed to perform as only the openers Vijay and Dhawan  reached  20’s , there was a brief sense of hope when Hardik Pandya and Kohli struck up a 48 run partnership until Pandya was dismissed.

Virat Kohli showed his skills once again after knocking up another century. His first in England and 22nd overall century. However one man could not do it all and was dismissed for a hard won  149 . As India close out at 274,  13 runs short of England’s score
