Date:

Reportedly, the director of VRG Digital Corporation and two other people are involved in trading and have claimed input credit by churning out fake invoices.

However, input credit is an option in GST which allows the taxpayers to claim credit for taxes paid on the purchase. This incident was brought to notice when an invoice was collected from the premises of Bombay Casting Talent Management Pvt. Ltd (BCTMPL) by Anupam Kher, who is to also essay the role of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in the movie. As per reports, Veteran actor Anupam Kher is not involved in any way. Upon further investigation, it was realized that VRG had paid Rs 115 crore to BCTMPL through the vendor Horizon Outsource Solution Pvt Ltd (HOSPL). If reports are to be believed, is also said to have received around Rs 79.38 crore through fake invoices with the help of evaded tax. As per reports, Vijay will be in judicial custody till August 14, 2018. In his remand application, the officials of the GST department have reportedly stated that the company VRG Digital Corporation procured only invoices from HOSPL without a receipt of goods or services with the sole intention of not paying the input tax credit.
