Kolkata resident aces the World IQ test

Date:

Amit Sahai, a 43-year-old IT professional from Kolkata, has topped the prestigious IQ World test along with two other Americans.

“I believe that intelligence is a relative term and this was just a test score which can be beaten by anyone with the right aptitude. Indians have a very sharp mind and understand things faster,” Sahai, who was born and brought up in Kolkata was quoted as saying by TOI.

IQ World LLC (IQ World) is a United States-based IQ Tests development company which provides services to many recruiting and HR companies and individuals. Recruiting agencies, schools and corporations use the IQ Tests to select their best candidates.

Saha believes that hundreds and thousands of people who have higher IQ are there among us whose scores are yet to be measured. Only 2 per cent in the world gets an IQ above 130.

Indians have been scoring and acing IQ tests. Last year in June, an 11-year-old Indian-origin boy in the UK secured the top possible score of 162 on a Mensa IQ test, two points higher than geniuses Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking, making him one of the brainiest children in the country.

Arnav Sharma, from Reading town in southern England, passed the infamously difficult test with zero preparation and had never seen what a typical paper looked like before taking it.

Another 12-year-old Indian-origin girl in England secured two points higher than geniuses Einstein and Hawking in the British Mensa IQ test.
