#KeralaNeedsU: Baahubali’s Prabhas donates Rs 1 Cr to relief fund

The Kerala floods have claimed hundreds of lives and displaced lakhs of people. The Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Saturday announced that the State has suffered a total loss of Rs 19,512 crores as per initial assessment. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in Kerala on Saturday to take stock of the flood-affected state. He conducted an aerial survey and then announced an aid of Rs 500 crores to the state.

State Governments have also announced aid of amounts ranging from Rs 5 crores to 10 crores. Several actors have also stepped forward to contribute to helping the state of Kerala. Among them is ‘Baahubali’ star Prabhas. The actor has donated Rs. 1,23,45,678 towards the Kerala floods.

Several other actors from south India and Bollywood have also made donations for the Chief Minister relief fund. Malayalam superstars Mohanlal and Mammootty have donated Rs 25 lakh each, while young actor Tovino Thomas has volunteered to provide basic amenities at relief camps and has also opened his house in Irinjalakkuda. Tamil actor Siddharth Suryanarayan donated Rs 10 Lakh and even initiated the Kerala Donation Challenge, motivating people to donate. Reportedly, Tamil actors like Kamal Haasan, Suriya-Karthi, and Vijay Sethupathi, contributed Rs. 25 lakhs each to the relief fund.

Actor Prabhas is still riding high on the success of the ‘Baahubali’ series where he played the titular role.

The actor is currently working on his next film ‘Saaho’- a sci-fi thriller film. Shraddha Kapoor will be his co-star and the film is being helmed by Sujeeth. ‘Saaho’ is being shot extensively across various countries The film also stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Jackie Shroff, Vennela Kishore, Mahesh Manjrekar, Chunky Pandey, and Mandira Bedi and they all will be wrapping the film in Romania in December. according to the latest report, Prabhas’s next film after ‘Saaho’ will be a romantic entertainer. The buzz is that the film will be directed by Radha Krishna Kumar of ‘Jil’ fame. Reportedly, the first half of the film will be set in the 1940s and then progress to the current era in the latter half of the film. Radha Krishna Kumar is currently finalising the casting of the film and will be disclosing more details on his next venture soon.
