Man arrested for raping niece, told cops ‘was treating her mangal dosh’

Delhi: A man has been arrested for allegedly raping her own niece for over three years claiming that he is treating her of ‘Manglik Dosh’, the police officials said on Monday. The man told the girl if she’ll not get rid of this ‘dosh’, her father would die.

The crime continued to happen for four years. Her uncle would even call her after her marriage, this is when the girl decided to tell all this to her father-in-law. Her father-in-law took the girl to the police station.

“The accused is the paternal uncle of the victim who was arrested the same day of the FIR,” police said. The police contacted the Delhi Commission for Women to provide counselling to the victim.
