Father of Marvel Universe passes away at 95; ‘Excelsior!’

Stan Lee, co-creator of iconic comic characters including Iron Man, Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, Daredevil and the X-Men, passed away on Monday.

According to TMZ celebrity news website, an ambulance was called to Lee’s Hollywood Hills home early on Monday and later died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

The 95 year old comic writer worked with artists such as Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko to give the comics industry a new life with his superheroes with complex emotional lives to colour their all-action adventures. The Marvel Universe that he gave birth to crossed from pages to screen with a series of TV and movie adaptations, which changed the face of popular culture.
