Jeep unveiled its Gladiator pick-up, which is based on five-door Jeep Wrangler, at the 2018 LA Auto Show.
Jeep Gladiator, which made a public appearance on Thursday, rides on a traditional body-on-frame chassis. It inherits the high strength aluminium doors, hinges, hood, fenders windshield frame and tailgate from the Wrangler but is given a five-foot long steel bed, in addition, to carry cargo.
The Gladiator houses a 3.6-litre V6 Pentastar petrol engine with a power output of 281 bhp and 353 Nm of peak torque. This is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard with an eight-speed automatic as an option. It will be offered with a 3.0-litre six-cylinder, diesel engine which will produce 256 bhp and 600 Nm of peak torque and will be mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox as standard, in 2020.

The insides of the Gladiator get a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a standard 7-inch display in the centre console while the 8.4-inch unit with the latest Uconnect infotainment system in optional.
The car, both petrol and diesel variants, will get the all-wheel drive (AWD) system as standard. The Gladiator Sport and Gladiator Overland will be equipped with two-speed transfer case with a 2.72:1 low gear ratio. The Gladiator Rubicon on the other hand has a Rock-Trac 4×4 system with a 4-Low ratio of 4:1. The Rubicon also has an improved total suspension travel with an electronic sway-bar disconnect.
The 2020 Jeep Gladiator offers more than 80 active and passive safety features including blind spot monitoring, rear cross path detection, forward facing off-road camera (optional on lower trims) rear parking camera, adaptive cruise control and electronic stability control (ESC) with electronic roll mitigation.
The 2020 Jeep Gladiator will have two hard-top and one soft-top variant. The Jeep Gladiator pick- up will be produced at the Toledo plant in Ohio alongside the Wrangler.
