Rakesh Roshan diagnosed with cancer, reveals Hrithik

Hrithik Roshan revealed that his father Rakesh Roshan has been diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat. It is a type of cancer caused by uncontrolled growth of abnormal squamous cells. The actor-turned-filmmaker has to go undergo surgery on Tuesday.

Hrithik shared a picture with his father on the day of his surgery on his Instagram page with a heartfelt message expressing love to his father. The actor said that his father was in his ‘full spirits’ to fight the cancer and how blessed the family was to have a ‘leader’ like him.

The picture was captioned “Asked my dad for a picture this morning. Knew he wouldnt miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know. Got diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him… Love you Dad.”

Rakesh Roshan’s daughter, Sunaina was also diagnosed with cervical cancer a few years ago and emerged as a survivor.

Roshan has delivered many hits during his career as a filmmaker, including his Hrithik Roshan’s debut film ‘Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai’ opposite Amisha Patel and the ‘Krrish’ series.
