Museum to showcase journey of Indian Cinema; PM Modi to inaugurate it on Saturday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new building for National Museum of Indian Cinema on Saturday.

National Museum of Indian Cinema (NMIC) is a museum preserving the film heritage of India.  It will showcase the rich history of Indian cinema.

The visitors will be able to witness the journey of  Indian Cinema with the help of visuals and graphics, film clippings, artifacts, publicity materials, interactive exhibits.

The museum also exhibits scenes from Dadasaheb Phalke’s Raja Harishchandra and Kaliya Mardan.

The state-of-the-art Museum has been built at a cost of over 140 crore rupees and is housed in two buildings – the New Museum Building and the 19th-century historic palace Gulshan Mahal in the Films Division campus in Mumbai.

It encapsulates four Exhibition Halls – Gandhi & Cinema, Children’s Film Studio, Technology, creativity and  Indian Cinema and Cinema across India.
