Jota grabs hat-trick as Wolves clinch thriller against Leicester

Date:

In what arguably was the Premier League’s best game of the season, Wolverhampton Wanderers clinched a thriller against Leicester City 4-3 at the Molineux Stadium, on Saturday.

Diogo Jota scored his first in the 4th minute as Leicester were caught napping early in the game. Eight minutes later, Ryan Bennett doubled Wolves’ lead, leaving a lot to be desired from Leicester.

As the Foxes looked for improvement in the second half, substitute Demarai Gray pulled one back. As Leicester pushed for an equaliser, Wolves began to look for their third. But Claude Puel’s men grabbed the equalizer as Conor Coady put the ball into his own net.

But the game wasn’t over as Jota scored again to recover the lead for Nuno Santo’s men. This led to Leicester pushing again and miss chances. Just when it seemed that it wouldn’t be their day, Leicester captain Wes Morgan headed the Foxes level with three minutes plus stoppage time to be played.

After 4 minutes were added on, the game sparked into life again. Jota missed a golden chance to hand Wolves a dramatic winner. When it seemed that the Portuguese had let the chance to win the game go, he took full advantage of poor defending from Leicester to grab a hat-trick and a hand Wolves all the points in a dramatic win.

The loss put more pressure on Puel, as Wolves got level on points with 7th placed Watford.
