We don’t spare those who trouble us, says Namo

Date:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said that the Indian Army has been giving befitting reply to the enemies of the country.  India is a peaceful country but it has the will and power to protect its boundaries at any cost in an adverse situation, he said addressing the culmination parade of this year’s National Cadet Corps Republic Day Camp in New Delhi.

“We (India) don’t trouble anyone, however, if anyone troubles us, we don’t spare them anyway,” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing the National Cadets Corps.

Tough decisions will be taken in the coming days which are essential for the safety and security of the nation, he added.

“We are a peace loving nation but when someone needles us we dont sit quietly (हमारी सेना ने ये स्पष्ट संदेश दिया है कि हम छेड़ते नहीं हैं, लेकिन किसी ने छेड़ा तो फिर छोड़ते भी नहीं हैं। हम शांति के प्रबल समर्थक हैं लेकिन राष्ट्र की रक्षा के लिए कोई भी कदम उठाने से चूकेंगे नहीं),” he said.

Talking about the role of women in the defence services he said “For the first time ever, our daughters have become fighter pilots. We are taking steps to ensure that at least 20% of the total strength in the military force is of women.”

The Prime Minister appreciated the role of NCC cadets in spreading awareness on several schemes like Swachh Bharat and their immense contribution during Kerala floods. He said the government is doing all efforts so that dreams of the youth get fulfilled.
“The youth are giving wings to their dreams. Take for example Hima Das who has come from the rice fields of Assam to become a champion athlete,” he said.

Earlier, cadets from all three wings of the armed forces, Army, Navy and Air Force presented Guard of Honour to the Prime Minister followed by a march past by contingents. The Prime Minister also presented awards to the best cadets in different categories.

Two thousand seventy Cadets including 698 girl cadets drawn from 29 States and 7 Union Territories participated in this year’s camp. Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also attended the event.
