Sensex clocks its longest losing streak in a year

Date:

The 30-share benchmark Sensex on Friday fell for the seventh day in a row to clock its longest stretch of losses since February 7, 2018 as investors turned cautious amid rising geo-political concerns.

Sensex ended  67.27 points down at 35,808.95, while Nifty settled at 10,724.40 points, down by 21.65 points. Sensex fell as much as 365 points in intraday and Nifty dropped 126 points . Muted earnings from corporates in the December quarter, trade tensions between US and China, and rising global oil prices also kept investors on the back foot.
