Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart enter Guinness Book of Records

Hugh Jackman and Sir Patrick Stewart have earned a place in the Guinness World Record for ‘longest career as a live-action Marvel superhero.’ Jackman and Stewart have played the roles of Wolverine and Professor X, respectively in Marvel movies.

The announcement was made while Jackman was doing an interview on the British day time show ‘This Morning’ where the Guinness World Record’s Craig Glenday presented him with the honour. He has played the character of Wolverine for 16 years and 228 days and shares the honour with his X-Men co-star Sir Patrick Stewart, who has portrayed Professor Charles Xavier (Professor X) for the same amount of time.

Jackman has mentioned that it has been his life long dream to be a Guinness World Record holder. He claims that as kids, he and brother were obsessed with trying different ways to get in the record book including attempting to break the record for the longest badminton game.

Sir Patrick Stewart also congratulated Jackman for the award, “I have discovered that you and I are now in the Guinness Book of Records. Congratulations my friend – there’s another thing to hang on your wall.”

Jackman started his career as a musical theatre star and has already bagged an Emmy and a Tony Award.
