Amit Shah holds mega rally in Gujarat ahead of filing nomination from Gandhinagar

Ahmedabad: BJP president Amit Shah is all set to file his nomination for the Lok Sabha polls from Gandhinagar (Gujarat) constituency on Saturday.

Presently a Rajya Sabha MP, Shah will contest the Lok Sabha elections for the first time. He will contest from Gandhinagar constituency in Gujarat, which is currently held by BJP veteran LK Advani.

“He will file the nomination at 12:30 pm on Saturday in the presence of Home Minister Rajnath Singh, former Chief Minister of Punjab Parkash Singh Badal, Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, Lok Janshakti Party president Ram Vilas Paswan and BJP’s national general secretary Ram Lal,” said Mahendra Panday, BJP secretary, in a press release.

Before filing his nomination, Amit Shah addressed a mega rally with NDA leaders including Prakash Singh Badal, Udhav Thackrey and Ram Vilas Paswan in Naranpura area of Ahmedabad.

The last date for filing nominations is April 4. Voting for all the 26 seats of Gujarat will take place on April 23. Results will be declared on May 23.
