Those making SARAB jibes are drunk on power: Akhilesh at SP-BSP rally in Deoband

Date:

In the first joint rally of the Samajwadi Party, BSP and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) alliance in Deoband on Sunday, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav slammed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government, saying those who make ‘SARAB’ jibes are drunk on power.

He also hit out at the BJP’s recent ‘Main bhi Chowkidar’ campaign saying, “Politicians become chowkidars only during election time.”

“They failed on their electoral promises and have no answers… it is time to snatch the Chowkidar’s chowki (seat),” he added.

Earlier on March 28, while addressing a public rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Take ‘SA’ from Samajwadi Party, ‘RA’ from Rashtriya Lok Dal and ‘B’ from Bahujan Samaj Party, it would make Sarab.”

While BSP supremo Mayawati predicted imminent defeat for the BJP in the Lok Sabha election 2019, mainly due to their policies, which she claimed were inspired by hatred.

“BJP will go out of power because of their wrongdoings and policies. Chowkidari and jumlebaji (political gimmick) will not help them to win votes,” the BSP chief said.

Uttar Pradesh sends 80 lawmakers to the lower house of the parliament. The state will go to polls in all seven phases of the upcoming election starting April 11. The result will be announced on May 23.
