No! Prez Trump didn’t make this statement about PM Modi; here’s the fact check

Date:

A picture post has surfaced on social media which has a statement attributed to US President Donald Trump.

The quote in Hindi read: ”डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प ने कहा भारत में नरेंद्र मोदी जी को आजीवन प्रधानमंत्री घोषित कर देना चाहिए”

(Translation: Donald Trump said India should declare Narendra Modi as lifetime Prime Minister)

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above and we found it to be false.

Prez Trump never made any statement mentioned above. After the Lok Sabha Results were announced on May 23, President Trump did congratulate Prime Minister Modi.

US President Trump said in a tweet, ”Just spoke to Prime Minister @NarendraModi where I congratulated him on his big political victory.”

After elections results Trump said Modi is ‘a great man and leader’ and called people of India “lucky to have him!”

However, after putting the key words of the above statement on Google there was no reliable source to confirm that.

The above information proves that the statement is FAKE.
