Mumbai: Man stabbed to death in a row over 10 rupees

A vegetable vendor in Dadar, Mumbai allegedly stabbed a customer to death when an argument broke out between the two.

According to the police, the deceased, Mohammed Hanif, had gone to purchase vegetables in a market in Dadar around 11 pm on Monday. The Vegetable vendor and Hanif argued over a 10 rupee transactional dispute, following which the former stabbed the latter with a vegetable knife.

Hanif was stabbed on his neck and arms multiple times before the vendor fled the scene, according to police reports. 

The police have sent the body for post-mortem and have filed a case under murder. They have initiated investigation of the matter immediately.

Dadar Assistant Commissioner of Police Sunil Gawker said, “As soon as we were informed about the incident, we reached the spot and rushed the man to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.’

The culprit is still at large and is yet to be arrested.
