New Delhi: The mastermind of deadly 26/11 Mumbai terror attack and Jamat ud Dawa (JuD) chief, Hafiz Saeed, has been arrested and sent to judicial custody.
According to Pakistan media reports, Hafiz Saeed was arrested by Counter-Terrorism Department of Punjab province on Wednesday when he was on his way to Gujranwala from Lahore.
Amid the pressure on Pakistan from across the globe, the arrest was made to avoid FATF (Financial Action Task Force) blacklisting of Pakistan.
In 2017 also Hafiz Saeed and his four aides were detained by the Pakistan government under terror laws. But they were released after nearly 11 months when the Judicial Review Board of Punjab refused to extend their confinement further.
