J&K: Schools reopen in Kashmir today

Date:

After two weeks of a security lockdown in Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370, some schools and all government offices opened on Monday.

Earlier the administration had said that the restrictions would be eased in a phased manner. The Centre imposed the restrictions to avoid trouble over its decision to end special status to Jammu and Kashmir and split it into two Union Territories.

On Friday, J&K chief secretary, BVR Subrahmanyam, had said that schools will be opened after the weekend as the government did not want the study of children to suffer.
