FACT CHECK

When NewsMobile fact-checked the above tweet, we found that the claim attached to the pictures is FALSE.

1.

On putting the picture through Reverse Image Search, we found the original picture which was taken in June 2017 by AP’s Mukhtar Khan.

The picture shows Kashmiri women and young girls wailing as the body of martyred policeman Tasveer Ahmad arrives for his funeral.

2.

The above picture is not from Kashmir. It is actually from Israel taken by the award-winning American photographer Heidi Levine in 2014.

The picture features 17-year old Rawya abu Jom’a at the Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. Rawya was wounded when two Israeli airstrikes hit her family’s apartment.

Hence, the above information proves that the viral tweet is misleading.
