Are pigeons in Srinagar’s Jamia Masjid dying of starvation? Here’s the truth

A few pictures have been doing rounds on social media claiming that for the first time in the history, pigeons are dying in Jamia Masjid in Srinagar due to starvation.

FACT CHECK

When NewsMobile fact-checked the post, we found that the pictures are old.

On putting the the images through Reverse Image Search, we found that one of the picture is from 2012. The image was on flickr, taken by Wazari Wazir on Febrary 7, 2012.

We also found the second image on flickr, taken on July 2, 2011 by Craig Hannah and the caption read, ” Flock of dead pigeons in an Old Mill near Manchester, UK.

Moreover, we did not find any reliable news report or clips to verify the above claim

Hence, the above information prove that the claim is false.
