Anumula Gitesh Sarma appointed India’s High Commissioner to Australia

Senior IFS officer Anumula Gitesh Sarma has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to Australia.

1986 batch IFS officer, Sarma, was serving as Secretary (West) in the Ministry of External Affairs.

He will replace AM Gondane as India’s envoy in Australia.

Sarma is expected to take up the assignment shortly.

Earlier, Sarma had served as the Ambassador of India to Uzbekistan from 2011 to 2014 and the High Commissioner to Fiji from 2014 to 2015.
