ED arrests Congress leader P Chidambaram after questioning him at Tihar Jail

Congress leader P Chidambaram arrested by Enforcement Directorate in the INX Media case after the ED questioned him at Delhi’s Tihar Jail on Wednesday morning.

A three-member team of the agency questioned him for nearly an hour. The arrest came a day after a special court agreed to the agency’s request for his custodial interrogation.

Chidambaram, who was arrested by the CBI in the INX Media case on 21 August, has been in Tihar jail since September 5 in the money laundering case.

The probe agency will be moving the CBI court later in the day seeking Chidambaram’s custody. The application will be heard on Thursday.
